Lagar de Darei – White Private Selection 2012

Philosophy:

Its personality and complexity results from the climatic conditions, the selection of the best estate grapes and the creativity of our winemaker.

Viticulture:

Soils are granite dominated sands. Between elevation and river driven humidity, Dao’s wide diurnal temperature shifts (20º+) ensure both white and red wines are endowed ample natural acidity. Dao wines are renowned throughout Portugal for their ‘freshness.’
Average age of vines: 9 years.

Grapes Varieties:

Encruzado, Malvasia Fina; Cerceal; Bical; Verdelho

Vinification:

Fland picked by variety, fruit selected on sorting table, destemming and crushing, Fermented in wood vat and in concret vat with temperature control at 14/16 2C and total steming.

Maturation:

2 months wood barrel maturation and 2 months bottle maturation prior to bottle release.
