Philosophy:

Its personality and complexity results from the climatic conditions, the selection of the best estate grapes and the creativity of our winemaker.

Viticulture:

Soils are granite dominated sands. Between elevation and river driven humidity, Dao’s wide diurnal temperature shifts (20o+) ensure both white and red wines are endowed ample natural acidity. Dao wines are renowned throughout Portugal for their ‘freshness.’
Average age of vines: 18 years.

Touriga Nacional; Tinta Roriz; Jaen; Tinta Roriz

Limited Edition: 1.200 Bottles

Vinification:

Hand picked by variety, fruit selected on sorting table, destemming and crushing, fermentation with temperature control in small open tanks with foot treading ( 22- 25oC), basket pressing, malolactic fermentation in concrete vats.

Maturation:

50 % on oak Barrels for 6 months and 24 months on concrete vats
